Autism Symptoms and Behaviors - Home Video

I made this video to show the behaviors my ASD son displayed throughout the years. These classic autism symptoms were the clues that lead to us diagnosing and embracing his autism. Intervention has been so crucial for us to overcome the obstacles in communication and learning. Everyday, we are seeing our son make so many improvements in the areas he use to struggle in.

3:07 My son just turned 3 and he often lightly screams at high pitch like Desmond did at this part of the video. Does this show signs of autism or do all toddlers do this when excited?

I have autism. I was diagnosed when I was 4 years old and, there are certain things that I don't like. I don't like gettin' yelled at because, I break down crying when that happened. After that was done, I begin to get comfortable with violence which meant that, I wanted to get even with the person by fisticuffs or backhanding them. I never got physical but, I understood that it's not worth it. Instead, I hold a grudge against that person which I am good at or, I ended up hating that person. After a while, if I see that person in a place or whatever, I just turn around and leave because, I remained angry with that person. Eventually, if the person shows again he/she would apologize and, I will accept it. Other problems I have is repeating, obsessiveness (not deadly), and even outbursts. I am 41. I didn't get my drivers license till I was 21. I can talk, etc.

I have autism and I fell in love with the amount of autism acceptance his sister showed him throughout the video. My sister showed me that kind of love when I was little, laid on me when I was upset for pressure, stood up to people who bullied me. The love between siblings is amazing and unconditional ❤️

The only thing that is discouraging about Autism is the unintelligent ideas/opinions people form around it. It's fking disgusting.

its so hard..in Turkey people are in denial. the doctor says. oh he is bilingual. it happens. next. but all the questions ticked yes. ı have known for 5 years my son is autistic. and folks. it doesnt mean he is good at maths and a genius. it means it is f. ing difficult. day in day out.. you love someone. but they irritate you to a point where you want to slam your head against a rock.. and if you admit that. you are a bad parent. there is no support. people dont want to be with you. you cannot go out wiht your child. you lose your friends. probably end up splitting from your partner. and if you mention. maybe. that we should check the intake of heavy metals in vaccinations. you know. as this crisis is getting worse. you become ostracized from half of humanity who do not wish to consider that option... you get the feeling that no one knows what to do.. because. really. no one can put a finger on what it is and why it is exponentially growing

When I see a person with autism who is severely impaired like head banging - I understand. Language delay - I understand. But other things are so unspecific. Eye contact. If you are a European person you think it's bad and socially inappropriate. but in Asian cultures - it is rude to have eye contact.
SebastienMGN 20 days ago
except for language delay, I would have never guessed that hand flaming or interest in strollers are smith out of ordinary.

I had some of these symptoms when I was 3 years old. My parents then took me to a hospital. The doctor said that I am diagnosed with Mild Autism and I still have a chance to reform my mentality. So, whenever I repeated the same words that my mom had just said, she will slap me. But, in the other hand, I am very thankful that I already recovered from Autism, though I still think that the way my mom disciplines me from becoming fully autistic are very painful.

Wow this video brought tears to my eyes, my son has autism and it’s been a struggle, he’s only two so i still have a long way to go. He goes to speech therapy, and behavioral therapy, I understand everything he needs want and so on, we have a relationship like no other. Theirs time when I think he struggles within himself and he has these bad days where he want to communicate but can’t so he screams bites hits and it’s hard cause you can’t hit them I say what your doing is wrong a unexseptible behavior but he doesn’t understand and I know it. My daughter plays with him the same way and she found and formed this relationship with him that he won’t play with other kids just her. Omg I can go on for days writing. Thank you for this video it made my day god bless you guys as parents your doing an amazing job.

At 3:41 I can clearly hear him say I need you , in a moaning and slury way. Maybe not picked up because of the music but it is what I hear. My son was like Desmond when he was young. Diagnosed with classic autism at 5 years old. He flapped his hands, licked objects, and had delayed speech. He would use a word once or twice and then stopped using it when he pronounced it right. He would learn about 40 words a day at the age of two. Never listened to is name or slept at normal hours. refused solid food until he was 4 years of age. His biggest hobby at that time was learning car models. I walked around parkings for hours telling him the what car model it was and within a month he could tel every car model that passed. He started talking when he was about 3 and a half years old but right away with full sentences. (Until then he pointed or took my hand.) And he would not stop talking, it was like a flood of words all day long. And not always did his words connect with the subject. He was the oddball amongst his peers, never fitted in at that time. I was told more than once to put him into care but I always refused. He is now 20 years of age and is working. I think if I had done what they wanted he would not have gotten this far, he had to challenge the world. In the beginning he held my hand to do so and now I am a shadow guide, we talk each day about how his day went. They once told me he he had severe learning disabilities but we beat the odds together. I know not all autistic childeren will get where my son is now, but for years we had to take one step at the time. He learned to read at the age of 10. Learned to ride a bike at 14 and tie his shoe laces he was 17. Things that may come for granted to other parents, where super mile stones here. He learned to swim and got 3 swimming diploma's. Am I proud of him.. You bet. A boy who once pointed at objects refused to talk to strangers, enter a building or a shop, he did not know, has joined a union. Travels around, meets strange people and enters shops and buildings on his own. Now people hardly believe he is autistic exept for his mum who knows him best. I always told him, please try to blend in outside our house and when you are at home you can be as autistic as a doornail. He reminds me of this once in a while when he has his moments and I ask him to act his age. Love and patience can do a lot and a very stuburn mum, who wants to prove everybody they are wrong. We won but it did cost me my health, not because my son was an autistic child but the low way some people acted denying my sons diagnosis telling others I abused my son and there for he acted the way he did and made me fight for him day in day out. My son being happy reaching 18 because they could no longer take him away ever or threaten to do so. Two years has passed and he has grown since then. It was a hell of a fight that lasted 14 years. Now we look at the future and I hope to see a lot more in him coming out now, because he does have potential, his next goal is his drivers license, he has beat the odds before so I am hopeful he wil get it as well. Im starting to think my mom doesnt like me, i like spining around because its fun to be dizzy and try not to get hurt. I dont like going in crowded places because i dont like everyone looking at me. I dont like people looking at me becausr i think they might laugh at me. I like making random noises because. I cant really explain. I like playing imaginary games because i find it fun and intresting. I like running in the house because i need things donr asap. I honestly hope i was misdiognoised. I am really smart and i try to be as normal as possible. Dont say be yourself because at this point yourself isnt what u wanna be right now.i am very smart and i know what everything means and i know all about that thug life stuff. So i try to act normal and not think about armageddon. Can someone tell me if i have it i rreeaaally hope i dont have it. Dont say its a good thing to have because i am tired of hearing it. I like lisening to who let the dogs out earape because i find earape very funny and not natrual but idk. I like listening to the wii sports earrape because its funny and i think people will have a funny reaction. I like listening to ok this is the last time bass boosted because its very funny and i like how u can still hear the words. I like deleting peoples apps because its funny when they yell at me and act weird all day. I like listening to the windows error sound because it seems i have found my peoples when is see that. I am not retarted im just trying to be honest. I know i pretty much have it. I also like when i eat all the ice cream sandwitches and i put ice and bread inside the box so people will be mad

Thank you for producing this video, sharing experiences with your son to educate & spread awareness of autism. My little brother who is 10 (i'm 25 so big gap) has autism but he was a blessing to our family. I have a lot of love for him & we are quite close compared to everyone else in the family. He selectively goes out of his way to hug people he likes or say hi, sometimes excluding relatives haha Its that quality in him I like, no falseness, just straight up lets you know where ya stand with him. He knows when people are full of shit too or too much of a bore haha

Aww so sweet! God bless you both! Just an FYI I believe this woman Kerri Rivera’s Protocol will be able to help you and your son! And also for anyone one else here watching that have children on the autism spectrum disorder! She is a mother that diligently searched and found a protocol that not only healed her son, but has also healed well over 500 (and counting) children on the spectrum! It’s free, it’s on YouTube and it’s definitely worth looking her up and giving it a shot, her name is Kerri Rivera, she is now a homeopath and she even wrote a book called, “Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism” I hope everything works out and God bless you both!

I’m 23 and was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome at 17 after I went through hell in school and dropped out in 11th grade. I grew up in a house where I could drink alcohol since 12 years old. I got in a lot of trouble at 17/18 and burned down a few houses. I’ve been on probation since 2014 and will be on in July 2021. I’m struggling with sobriety and finding a job that can be a good fit. This video made me very emotional and I’m crying. I wish my parents knew how to help me when i was young. They didnt even know I was on the spectrum until I was 17. Before then doctors just said it was a behavioral problem and depression/social anxiety. I’m still learning a lot about myself, It’s very hard.
