I was sitting on me invisible couch watching this from my mom's womb. Yes i was born on that day to this day i browse reddit like a madman looking for gifs on this and found a shittymorph, he was very chill it reminded me of how in nineteen ninety eight the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.

The Undertaker didn't throw Mankind off the top! He kind of pushed/guided Mick off as Mick was teetering near the edge of the roof.

I still to this day can not believe that he got threw off that top. I do t care how scripted something is, wrestling has seen many deaths for stunts not even 10% of what that is. The craziest stunt in wrestling and I’m not sure that will ever get topped.
Clean Shaven Doom 1 month ago
This wasn't a good match let's be honest. But I like people calling it a spectacle. Thats not taking away from the jaw dropping moments Foley delivered. I think every fan watching at that time can agree that it still to this day is one of the craziest things they've seen in wrestling. The whole sequence of events including the stretcher, boys from the back rushing in, Taker on the cage as its lifting up, all of it just added to the mystique that still surrounds this surreal moment in wrestling history.

Wow!!!! WTF I got to give it to Vince McMahon. What A hell of an introduction to a match. I had never ever seen this match although I'm a huge fan, but I was a greater fan of WCW. What better way, more impressive way to STARR a cage match to the unexpected, extraordinary odd of starting it in the top of the ring. WOW!!!!! 😮 This Was Real Wrestling Entertainment. 👏👏👏

You are too young my friend. One day you will change your mind when you are mature enough. WWE is scripted but the pain is really not for the faint hearted. Why do you think they are all so tall and muscular compared to average guys on the streets?

I want to speak to 1 person that was there live that night, and ask them what it was like to feel that electricity, to feel that loudest reaction of all when they witness The Undertaker through Mick Foley off the top of the cell in person. All those people were lucky to witness what would be the biggest moment in wrestling history.
Jake Pitsenbarger 2 months ago
If you think about it, Jim Ross breaks kayfabe just a bit. They've killed him They implying WWF, not Taker. In the heat of the moment no one cared about that slip.
Jake Pitsenbarger 2 months ago
Thank heavens Jim Ross was commentating this match. Would have lost some of its mystique over time if it had been Cole. Vintage Foley!! doesn't sound as good as As God as my witness, he is broken in half!

All my life, all I ever wanted was to Be a wrestler Fighting in the ring Winning that belt. And so I dreamed every night that I was the Undertaker Smashing skulls in Breaking arms. But I'm so worked up. This is something I can do. Do I have what it takes inside? I was wrestling the neighbourhood bully, when suddenly his fist 'n' arm got in my colon. For eleven days I felt like confused, like Mulder & Scully; Because this was my first encounter with wrestling, and I had a hard-on. I was sporting wood with, in my behind still that bully's arm.But due to the bully I repeatedly got wrestled by his father, after the bully dragged me to his daddy's farm.

Just a side note, there's a guy on reddit called /u/shittymorph who is always referencing this, he got kinda famous from it. But anyway, in nineteen ninety eight the undertaker threw mankind off hеll in a cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.

Is it just me, or is Alex Jones the announcer? I just can't shake it -- the fierce delivery and glottal density just sounds like too much of a coincidence to consider he had any other job in production before the youtube era. This whole backing track simply bears a strong resemblance to Jones -- especially at the end of the match back in nineteen ninety eight when the undertaker threw mankind off hеll in a cell, plummeting him sixteen feet through the announcers' table.
Danimal1177 3 months ago
J.R.'s commentary was just as important to this event as was 'Taker and Mankind's actions. His excitement and passion really sold it. If this happened in WCW around 1994, Bobby Heenan would say something like Well, that'll give you Excedrin headache number 9. And Tony Schiavone would say, Indeed it would; but don't forget to call the hotline, fans.
