Can't believe the jury found him guilty. So much reasonable doubt

tons of reasonable doubt. I don't believe he did it. But even if he did do it , it wasn't proved. It needs to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. What the hell is wrong with the system?

100% guilty. He smashed her head against the door frame and steps to create injuries consistent with a fall down the stairs. There was never a murder weapon, he outsmarted everyone. It's kind of like a Columbo episode where the fiction writer tries to outsmart the police with the perfect crime. Well, Peterson did it for real. If you want to figure out how a crime was committed, ask a criminal. They're so much smarter than any 'expert' in this field.

If you had an incident where your wife died at the bottom of the staircase and the same shit repeats itself with your next wife. Deep down, irrespective of the truth, you know you’re fucked. Short of video footage of an owl attacking your wife and her tumbling down the stairs, you know based upon the rarest coincidence you can possibly imagine up, you’re absolutely fucked. I’d shrug and just accept fate at that point.

This is RIDICULOUS! I think the original defense ( and “expert” testimony from Henry Lee) makes the most sense. She fell UP 3 steps, then down 3, then back UP 3, then down again. Then she stood up and slipped back down again. Then, she did the hokey, pokey but instead of turning herself around, guess what? She fell UP 2-3 steps again. Because so many people die annually from repeatedly falling UP and down the same 2-4 steps. The defense made $800,000 to come up with that testimony yet my 7 year old could’ve come up with it ( and the owl theory) for an ice cream cone.

A very sad yet compelling case. When I first saw the autopsy photos the first thing that came to mind was how much the marks on her head looked like talons. There was an incredible amount of mishandled forensic evidence. Also many things brought up during the trial that were not relevant to the trial just to try & discredit Mr. Peterson’s reputation. The evidence should speak for itself in the courtroom. So glad this poor family can finally get on with their lives.

Whether you think Michael Peterson is guilty or not, David is a straight G! OG Triple OG. We be need more stand up lawyers like him in America, because the justice system is so unfair. Everyone knows the prosecutors have access, resources, and the ability to generally do whatever they see fit. All the while the defendant is limited and constantly restricted. IMO I don’t know if Michael Peterson is guilty or not, but he’s a definitely an extremely weird person. He was very strange. And I think the series the staircase actually made him seem even more weird to me. The forensic files episode of it was too cut and dry. Freda Black and Duane Devers are both scumbags and that’s the only reason I think their is so much doubt surrounding this. At least for myself. Even before the OWL theory came out I was thinking both of those prosecutors were grimey. Freda looking like Cruella Deville, with her strong southern accent would have made me shit my pants if I was a defendant. I guess that’s a compliment to her, cuz she was scary as shit! Lol

The owl theory is ridiculous, especially since the temperature was about 55 degrees/12 degrees and Michael stated he was outside for nearly an hour whilst being dressed in only shorts and a t-shirt. Also, Kathleen was on the PC upstairs with a recorded email sent around midnight.

numerous microscopic feathers.  whatever those are.  if they're microscopic they could have fallen into her head like pollen when she was sitting outside.  If she grabbed the bird to try to get it off of her head why were there NO regular sized feathers laying around? i'll tell you because her freaky fking husband bashed her brains in. Period.  No owl did any damn thing.
GrissomLovesSara 27 days ago
They said microscopic owl feathers. WTF are those? Why not actual feathers along with microscopic?  If there are owls in her area then microscopic (duh) feathers could have landed on her head like pollen lands.  Explain why the blood was dried when the emt's came and why his phone call sounded so fake. I found someone dead that I loved and believe me the phone call sounds nothing like his.  You want the emt's to help you. You're scared and listening to everything they say. Not yelling I don't know I don't know. puhleeze. grow up!
GrissomLovesSara 27 days ago
it was obvious as hell that someone tried to clean it.  the swipes were in and through the blood! This new fangled fad of trying to prove that every guilty person is innocent to make money for Netflix is just like the Trump people. Dumb!

The owl blew-dry her blood too which is why it was dry when the EMT's showed up. yeah

+Xiaomin L Feador Get the fuck out of here - a bloody footprint on her shorts does not = he murdered her. There are a hundred logical plausible and logical explanations for that. And as for you saying: ''Feathers floating in the air, they had to land somewhere'' - ha ha ha ha. Yeah, had to land somewhere. could have landed anywhere else in that fuck off huge house but nope, it landed on her head? No idea how your brain works darling, but it's amusing. Also, you say blood was found 8 feet up the wall. that is not unusual of any traumatic wound. Especially if you have a barred owl flapping about while attacking your head.
MVW 2 months ago
Anyone who laughs at the Owl theory only do so because it's an Owl, an animal most people see as cute and even wise, rather than a more 'sinister' bird of prey like an Eagle. Owl attacks whilst rare can cause very heavy bleeding, can knock men to the ground and leave the 'victim' in shock, as was the case to John Mackay in 2013 who thought he had been hit by a brick:
GrissomLovesSara 27 days ago
that's good to know but no Owl killed this woman.  Her husband did.

Did you even know that there was bloody shoeprint found on Kathleen's sweatpants? So, when did this killer owl get into Michael Peteson's shoe and stumped on Kathleen?
estelle patella 2 months ago
Discovering that there was a corrupt prosecution investigator on the case was the lucky break that allowed his guilty client to avoid a life sentence. Peterson would have been convicted on retrial, IMO. That is my conclusion after having watched The Staircase on Netflix. PS. I think the corrupt cop (investigator) should be in federal prison for his crimes. Too many innocent people are sitting in prison because of people like him. I find it kind of creepy that Michael Petersen had a romantic relationship with an editor on The Staircase documentary (Sophie Brunet). The Owl Theory insultingly ridiculous. I can't believe Rudolf would even consider it.

Btw, I grew up with a barred owl living in a tree a few feet from our front door for many years. My parents and us four rambunctious children, coming in and out constantly and playing loudly in the vicinity daily and no attacks ever. Hmmmm.🤔 Not saying it's not possible BUT highly unlikely.

Good interview and he's definitely a great attorney BUT Michael Peterson is 100% guilty. He is a narcissistic, liar whose story is ridiculous when compared to the evidence. I didn't believe him during the series and the information that was left out was even more damming. RIP Kathleen Peterson.

I admire his loyalty toward his client/friend. Michael , however, is a character I would not wish within my family for a second. Narcissistic , devious and the possesses the empathy of a rock. I feel for all he has duped, and those who he could not work his ' bundyesque' ways on. Rip Kathleen. someone decent whose existance diminished within the 'Michael Show'.

Alison Self it’s exactly as easy as it looks. It just takes one being able to use common sense and logic. And it’s not about weather I “like” the verdict or not. The fact that a jury found a man guilty, based on all that evidence provided. With no head injuries of any kind outside of the lacerations, no murder weapon (despite the prosecution swearing up and down it was the blow poke the entire trial until until the point it was provided) it’s quite frankly, appalling. THIS is why there are 1000’s of innocent people in jail. Because people are stupid and don’t have the intellectual capacity to process information unbiasedly. Yes, jurors should be held accountable for their actions. As should prosecutors who’s job it is to seek truth and justice. Not conviction rates for their promotion.
Alison Self 1 month ago
+jjoeyj83 And the jury should be held accountable for that in your mind? It's hard enough to get people to show up for jury duty, but you propose that if we don't like the verdict, we should subject jurors to the death penalty? Have YOU ever been on a jury, it's not as easy as it looks. I guess you and I have a different definition of the word reasonable.
jjoeyj83 1 month ago
Alison Self do you understand reasonable doubt? I’m a little baffled by your question to me. I was stating that absolutely every single thing put forth by the prosecution had easy “reasonable” doubt. Perhaps not ALL doubt. But reasonable. There never should have been a guilty verdict based on the evidence. I’m not saying weather he did or didn’t do it. I’m saying based on the evidence, in America, there never should have been a guilty verdict. But, that’s corruption for you. Their star witness (Deaver) has since been fired for falsifying evidence in over 200+ cases to earn convictions. He also committed perjury in this trial. And withheld evidence that would have helped the defense. Weather I think MP did it or not is irrelevant. The man did not in any way shape or form receive a fair trial.
Alison Self 1 month ago
+jjoeyj83 You do understand the concept of reasonable doubt, correct? It doesn't mean beyond ALL doubt, just reasonable.

He never should have been charged with 1st degree murder in that situation. The death of the other woman in Germany should not have been allowed and the fact that he was bi sexual should not have been allowed. The state's case revolved around them assuming that Peterson's wife did not know he was a bi sexual and some fight about it had ensued yet there was not one shred of evidence to suggest it. Just because the man may like a cock up his ass on occasion doesn't make him a murderer. Then we find out the major evidence against him was fabricated by a corrupt SBI agent. I don't know if he did it, I sort of like the owl theory, it fits much better. The problem is, guilty or not, he was not proven guilty with concrete allowable evidence. He was railroaded with the murder 1 conviction and railroaded with the voluntary manslaughter conviction. He served what would be a normal second degree murder sentence (8 years) lost everything, bankrupted and now labeled for the rest of his life. He paid, guilty or not he paid.
GrissomLovesSara 27 days ago
I think he's guilty. There is absolutely no way to explain why the son was hanging around and unwilling to talk and also no way to explain how the blood dried by the time the emt's got there.  He's guilty.  All this deep-thinking by people with too much time on their hands doesn't change the fact that when you find your wife dead 45 mins later her blood is not dried.  SBI guy should have been jailed as well.

the lawyers for the defense do not want to know if the client did the deed; so they really don't want the whole truth.

Criminal defense lawyers can not afford the truth. The truth wouldn't just send their clients to prison, it would also ruin their business.

For those laughing at the owl theory it is the only theory that really fits EVERYTHING. She is outside drinking wine either Mike, has taken a Valium. She leaves to go inside. Just before the door the owl swoops and both talons make deep cuts in her scalp, but she quickly wrestles it off (There are photos online with people needing hundreds of stitches for this). This explains the pine needles and feather remnants found on her hands, as well as blood drops on walkway and door and other kniks and scratches. She likely doesn’t realize the extent of her injury immediately but realizes she is starting to bleed so she runs inside and the blood really starts to pour as she heads up the stairs. Perhaps she gets dizzy, blood runs into her eyes or in her haste she trips and falls backward down the stairs and hits her head. Now disoriented or briefly looses consciousness the blood really starts to flow. She coughs, sputters, tries to get up falls again or looses consciousness and continues to bleed without someone to provide pressure. Mike comes in after some time. Blood is drying and she is almost dead. Of course he runs to her, tries to arouse her, steps all over everything as you would, gets towels etc. I’m telling you, it’s what happened. A fall alone doesn’t make any sense with those gashes. Neither does a human attack with no bruising or brain trauma. They are lacerations fromsharp gallons and the pattern fits.

Oh yes I agree he had motive several times over and he is a very strange person.
Mr Mister 12 days ago
+Rich Tancredi Well he would be telling the truth, a story too crazy to lie about. And the very strange wounds on top of her head supports it big time then doesnt it? Instead he claim a fall when its a bloodbath on bottom of staircase. Its a strange case, but we can both agree that Michael wanted her dead?
Rich Tancredi 12 days ago
See now I think just the opposite. How the hell do you explain to the police that a bird attacked my wife? The answer is logical if insert my theory. Michael did restrain her from getting up to get help and caused some injury to her neck so it was easier to say she fell down the stairs and that's what caused those injuries. I did say earlier that if he wanted to kill her he could have simply waited for a night when they drank wine by the pool and pushed her in and held her down and then told the police that she must have drowned while he was upstairs sleeping. He could have even waited till the next morning the call the police.
Mr Mister 12 days ago
+Rich Tancredi If thats the case, why didn't he just say that an owl attacked her? Its sooo much more complicated to come up with a story about her falling down the stairs. Something is not right here.
Rich Tancredi 12 days ago
I never said Michael didnt notice or didnt witness the attack. I think Michael saw it as an opportunity. I think he held her down so she couldnt get up to go for help. That explains the compression injuries to her neck. There were NO blunt force trauma injuries to her head yet her scalp was torn open in shreds.Theres no other explanation to account for that kind of injury.

Rudolf is right about the constant excuses for politicians behaving badly. The kind of people excusing every sex or racism scandal surrounding Donald Trump are often the same conservative types who would position themselves as moral crusaders against anything harmful to Christian, family values. Nothing means anything to people anymore, they just want to be on the winning side.
