The owl was led into the courtroom, took a look around at his surroundings and stated I dont have time for this bullshit circus. He raised a wing and pointed at Peterson in an indicative manner why dont you talk to that asshole.

The owl had overheard the wife discussing putting a croquet area in too close to one of its nests, this establishes motive..

Life is stranger than fiction. In Australia in 1980 no-one believed a dingo would snatch a baby from its tent - well it did! Read about the Azaria Chamberlain case. In 1973 Bruce Lee was killed after taking an aspirin. And in 2016, almost no-one on the face of the earth believed Donald Trump would be the next president of the united states. There are many many other historical examples where Reality defied the expectations of armchair experts.

The problem we have with judging from the series is that we got 99% of the defence’s story and very little of the prosecution. I didn’t know for example about the strangulation marks and broken thyroid cartilage till episode 10 or 11. We saw almost no cross examination of the witnesses by the state and very few of their witnesses. For a 4 month trial we were give a very narrow view. Nonetheless, he clearly didn’t get a fair trial and not testing Kathleen’s clothes was unforgivable!
ROSEMARY EASTER 7 months ago
Although it could sound plausible it does not explain the signs of strangulation and his footprint on her sweatpants.

There's no shortage of dumbfuck imbeciles in this world, that's the element makes the western judicial system lethally vunverable. Those are the imbeciles that you can sell them any outrageous bullshit, they'd buy it, swallow it, no questions asked.

Sarah Trudell he was found guilty and he did take an Alford plea.so yes he is guilty by law
Xiaomin L Feador 7 months ago
Olivia, yes, maybe we can say that Ratliff been found dead at the bottom of a staircae was just a coicidence, the problem is in that scene, there was also ton of blood covered the dead woman, spashed high up on the wall, and Ratliff also suffered deep lacerations on her scalp. This Peterson asshole had an explosive temper and a short fuse, both women somehow did something or said something that pissed him off, i believe that he killed them both in rage.
Olivia Chacon 7 months ago
Sarah Trudell Yes of a brain hemorrhage or anurism. I think that it was just a weird coincidence that Ratliff was by Michael at foot of the stairs. I do believe he is responsible for Kathleens death. Maybe he didnt mean to, but caused it.

On that evening Michael said he stayed outside, while Kathleen went inside. Did she go out on balcony and the bird attacked her then? If so she would have screamed - it wouldn't be an instant death - plus someone would have heard - especially her husband or neighbors. Nice for a bird horror flick , but seriously ?

Does anyone know what was the actual cause of death? what part of her body was injured but made it fail to continue to function and stay alive? She had no brain damage so what part of her body organs or what was so damaged that it killed her? I've seen none of that address.
Libby 8 months ago
her cause of death was blood loss.
Xiaomin L Feador 8 months ago
She was left bleeding to death.

She bled to death I believe

Before this ridiculous owl theory , the defense attorney never explained where all that blood came from. I guess his only job was to put doubt in jury's mind. Not to find out what really happened. Even if he knew his client did it, his only job is to make it 99.99 , not 100%
CasioBananaCake 9 months ago
family jules i think it was more of shock that killed her from the result of almost bleeding to death

brimllgr, no like johnny-cockroach, or jose-fucking-bs who (out of desperation) went as low as throwing Caylee, a 3-year-old murdered child into a pool in the name of defense. And like this one, again out of desperation, try to pin the murder on an owl.
brmillgr 8 months ago
Yeah like the ones who withhold evidence of feathers and pine needles from the defense during a murder trial?

LeoGang Monty maybe trump will
Wray Row 9 months ago
If the owl attacked her wouldn’t it have to have happened outside ? That means there’s a ton of blood missing from outside. Where’s the blood trail from the bird attack to the stairs? The bird could have gotten inside but no one spoke of a bird inside. Doesn’t make any sense. JJ if it doesn’t make sense, it’s not true.
MUPPETS SHOW UP AT SPEAKERS CORNER 7 months ago
I think the owl got tangled to her hair, owl thinking it was a moving prey and soon as the claws were clapped into her head he must had ran into the house, but I go with this theory myself.
brmillgr 8 months ago
there was blood in the kitchen, there wasnt just blood at the bottom of the stairs.

Smurfy Lee the pool has a fountain that makes it hard to hear around it, they tested a theory with a recording of a female screaming for help at the bottom of the stairs, and you could not hear the screams around that fountain in the pool
Vookies 9 months ago
There should be blood in some branches or hair. I say try to find it to prove his innocence. But I still say too he’s no guilty and fell. The owl theory strengthens it by maybe she tripped on her own blood and because of her loss of blood and panic she passed out climbing the stairs and fell.

mercywarren1728 Well people just believe what they want to believe. If someone looks like a bad guy then whether or not there are sufficient evidence, people just want him to be guilty, judging the case with the so called “common sense”. Innocent until proven guilty just doesn’t exists. That’s why I will always put CCTV everywhere in my house, you never know what is gonna happen that will possibly make you a murderer.

David Rudolph said quite randomly it seemed in the last episode that he would love to know what happened and he couldn’t prove that it wasn’t a bird of prey. Seemed odd at the time but now I get it.

I agree! I knew he was innocent, was talking with my GF about it I know he didn't do it but how do they explain the head injuries? The documentary doesn't mention the clumps of her own hair in her hands, owl feathers. It changes everything.

Automatonable you need to THINK.how did an owl get into the house ? There is no substantial blood outside of the house.why? I’m sure you know someone who had a head injury .it bleeds immediately. You can’t keep it from bleeding unless of course you are prepared, like wear a ziplock around the head. This theory makes no sense at all. It’s a joke to even think an owl attached her outside. No substantial blood outside. No blood trail from the door to the stairs. So no that couldn’t have happened. If there was blood outside, trailing to the stairs then maybe but even with that people don’t bleed three feet up the wall. The beating took place near the wall with the most blood. Thats why Michael was found guilty by 12 people. He’s still guilty but now he’s out. Travesty of justice.and he is thinking we are all stupider than him. I’m not!
Automatonable 8 months ago
Michael doesn't know what happened. Every time it comes up he still seems at a loss for what exactly happened. If he did do it and was lying, it's more likely he would've tried to blame a fall instead of just saying 'I don't know'. The owl attack is the most plausible cause.
brmillgr 8 months ago
And anyone with common sense and a brain, I couldnt figure out the lacerations without skull fractures or brain injuries especially with the prosecution claiming he beat her with the blow poke or other blunt object until I found out about the owl theory. Its the only thing that explains those types of lacerations, it makes perfect sense.
