Breaks my heart seeing Michael in his prime then, and knowing his condition for the last 5 years. God Bless him and his family. Always SCHUMI!

0:22 I nearly died of laughter. Geez, that low speed crash is so silly. and so expensive, too. 1:26 Shumacher takes an Arrow (sorry, a Mclaren) in the knee. ROTF-LMAO. I hated the man, he was a dangerous driver and a moron. Seriously, he was furious, put a nazi face, and had to be restrained after he tried to break Coulthard face as he believed it was a plot by Hakkinnen team mate to ruin his victory. But Coulthard was one lap late, and would never have done that to Schumacher - because he was an honest driver !

Oh boy, chaos and mayhem, everywhere ! Excellent. I watched F1 from 1993 to 2001, when Schumacher killed any suspense and I stopped watching is dismay. I remember all too well so many wet races - Donington 1993, Brazil, Monaco 1996 (Panis, Panis !!!) and Spain 1996, and, well, that crazy one - Belgium 1998, in the month of august. Oh boy !!! . I watched that peculiar race with my dad (I miss you so much Dad, if only you could come back - one month after France won The World Cup, geez, what a summer that was). I can remember all too well that peculiar race, notably Shumacher running into Coulthard as he tried to overlap him, and later putting his best nazi face in the pitlane. How ugly was he. That crash ruined no less than 2/3 of the grid, it is perhaps one of the most expensive ever in the category. Also, it straight out of Mr Bean or Benny Hill. Stupid crash, really.

2:13 - no Eddie, you definately didnt look like a (apology for spelling) leprechaun or am idiot. Tou showed us what it means to achieve a dream and we love you for it. Ever since you left F1, it has been much much much less fun. We need people like EJ in all walks of life. That weekend at Spa will always be one of my best memories - august bank holiday is my birthday and i remember '98 well because of this race!

Bizarre Bunny Same. McLaren was my first love and is always in my heart but as you say, these days F1 puts us to sleep on the odd occasion so I’ve chosen the sister team, Mercedes. I slightly, only slightly fell in love with you because you also like McLaren and live so close to the action which I’m jealous of and also fall asleep during boring races like me lolz but now I want that divorce because you like Max haha. If I had to choose, it’s a toss up between Alonso and Hamilton. Although I love Hamilton because we’re the same age and he’s doing what I’d do if I was in his position of wealth. He enjoys life to the maximus. I can’t do top 5. I’ll do a top 3? Hamilton, Alonso, Ricciardo. To me, max deserves to have a good car but he doesn’t deserve the way he got his seat. Kyviat was getting podiums. There’s so much politics in red bull. Read Mark Webber’s autobiography. It’s a good eye opener. Which races have you been to? I can talk to you about F1 all day. I just realised how long my comment is lolz
Bizarre Bunny 23 days ago
Ali Khadour I've always had a soft spot for McLaren as I live about 5-10mins from their main global base so it's my home team but I enjoy a few teams like Red Bull, Force India, Mercedes and I can't choose a favourite driver as I feel they all have different styles (not Vettel though I'm not a fan of his style but I like Max cause he knows how to light up a race when ur about to fall asleep) if I had to choose a top 5 (not in order) it'd be: Hamilton, Leclerc, Ocon, Raikonnen and Ricciardo
Ali Khadour 23 days ago
Bizarre Bunny Good point and you’re right. Vettel isn’t as comfortable in the wet as Hamilton. Now with the safety and tech they have plus the halo which ruined everything. For them to not race when it rains is just a joke. It’s gone from the pinnacle of Motorsport, pinnacle of disaster, pinnacle of speed and sound to now just a sport to try and get new viewers = $$ Last nights MotoGP race was wild! It rained and around half of the grid had crashed and they kept it going after a short period of the red flag. Dovizioso put his hand up as he was flying past the straight in order to tell the stewards that it’s too dangerous to ride whilst Rossi was right behind him about to pass. Some men have bigger balls. Rossi and Hamilton’s balls are up there lolz Question: Favourite team or driver?
Bizarre Bunny 24 days ago
Ali Khadour meanwhile these days you get people like Vettel who has and I quote from a race it's too dangerous and then the opposite like Hamilton who said it's fine it's not that bad I'm not saying I prefer Hamilton but when it comes to rain I do cos of his attitude and skill but other times I'm not a massive fan girl

And nowadays we are talking about Ocon and Verstappen crash this was a Crash not the one in Brasil Just think if it happens today they would cancell the race after the first accident. Come on F.I.A we whant it like The Old Days.

I get a very strong intuition that ferrari did that on purpose to try and teach them a lesson. This is why ferraris racing strategy is despicable.

O problema está no material que está sendo usado na pista.Simplesmente não tem aderência no dia de chuva.Eu sou a favor do dióxido de ferro usado nas pistas de corrida.

I was 18 when that happened. My dad and I (huge F1 back then) were watching it, as Spa-Francorchamps was always one of out favourite tracks. The carnage was completely MENTAL that day! When the race ended, my dad said something like, Holy S--T.what the hell did we just watch?!?!

WTF they should move OUT OF racing line without slowing down too much when lapped, I'm known to be calm but even I'm angry, Schumi's easy win gone just like that. And Montoya for crashing him in the tunnel 2004 Monaco broke his winning streak

Today such a race (1998 Belgian GP) would be impossible, they would have stopped the race and probably it would be a half point race, the conditions were very dangerous and undrivable, even the best drivers in the world where crashing into each other all the time, exciting for fans but maybe not acceptable in terms of safety to stewards or drivers, people could have been killed by all these massive crashes, just lucky nobody was seriously injured in that race.

Nice video recap. The one detail I remember from the restart grid was Eddie Irvines eyes. They were big as saucers and I realized that he must be terrified.

I remember watching it live. We were all as terrorized as Norbert Haug, until they said there was absolutely no injuries if I remember well. This massive crash is probably the most impressive and the less lethal at the same time.
