10 Early Signs of Autism (UPDATED)

How do you know if your little one has autism? This video aims to help you discover answers and covers clinical examples found in many individuals with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Also as a side note, we mention echolalia in the speech example, but this particular example (even though Alistair repeated what he heard) was also an example of palilalia (constantly repeating), for more info about repetition of words, see here.

Stop vaccinating your children with the horrendous vaccines they have these days, it causes autism. 99% of vaccines aren't even necessary. You can get the one or two that are when they're older, like 7-8. Further, get a top water filtration system and install it on your kitchen sink. It should be one that filters out any tiny elements of lead in your water supply.

My son has autism as well as cp and pvl. He constantly stims or makes this weird little scrunch face. He's pretty good with texture for the most part. He is 3 and a half and started talking a little bit before 3, he doesn't do full sentences and still has his own babble language. He is pretty well behaved, but when something over stimulates him it sometimes causes meltdowns. This video of the children and their behavior is really amazing :)

If you look up signs of Autism half the population through my observation has it or is it the presentation of a learning disability that makes one autistic? I get that there is a spectrum but Im confused as it seems that half the population presents signs of autism. Unless it is presented where a child also has an IEP in school then it takes the total down significantly. As most pupils dont have an IEP.

Try seeking alternative treatment for very early age kids, below 10 years preferably using TCM method. Heard there are a few reputable doctors in TCM hospitals in Hong Kong & China who are able to cure or reduce the severity of autism. Why not check it out? I wish all are cured & free from autism.

Thank you for the video. I have been dealing with an autoimmune disease that I developed five years ago that is accompanied by irritable bowel symptoms, as well as psychological abnormalities and impairments, including difficulty formulating sentences and using words correctly (especially after meals, when my mind feels especially disorganized), memory issues, dyslexia, brain fog, and mental exhaustion. These symptoms and many others more closely aligned with autistic behavior have lessened over time, and I personally feel I owe my relief from them to the discovery of diets that specifically address autoimmune diseases like irritable bowel disease, chron’s, colitis, schizophrenia, and autism. I was wondering if you’ve experimented with putting your children on such diets like GAPS, SCD, or Body Ecology diet, and, whether or not you have seen any improvements as a result?

I think you're the only one who would like this and it's going to sound bizzare and I do not want to be offending but to want to euthanize a child just because he has autism. I think his people like you we must euthanize. But of course, doing this would be inhuman. So for your question, I repeat my previous comment. No;) Have a good night

This is all so true! Thank you for reassuring with your ability to cope. Wish we had this clip 15 years ago. Having said that our non-verbal son started verbalising sounds at 7. By 10+ he could speak intelligibly. Apart from stimming (part of his nature) & lack of safety awareness, he's a very happy & confident community role model. This is probably due to his simple faith & his happy obsessions. A godsend. An e.g., his hearing is so acute, he hears like a whale & owl but 'silent loud' sounds no longer mean painful meltdowns for hours on end. His obsessions keep him healthily focussed on making progress with some resilience, busy & self-motivated. Brain signals adjust mysteriously with time & 1:1 training. TG, kids can change. There is hope.

Thank you for making this video. MY son almost 3 years old and has a speech delay, that is what made start looking for answers and autism always seems to be the main reason. He has shown many of the signs you describe such as head banging, he used to do that a lot, walking on his tippy toes for a long period of time, fixation in objects (cars and wheels), at first he didn't seem to respond to his name and I thought that he was intentionally ignoring me but till this day he still can't say his name. As time has passed he stopped banging his head, still loves cars but has been able to separate himself from the object when he needs to do other things, before you could not take a car out of his hands even if he wanted to do something else, sometimes he would try to carry 3 or 4 objects in his hands without letting go of his one car. His speech is progressing but very slowly. When he started to learn some words Oh no ! was his go to and he would say it 20 times and it is slowly fading away too. My husband and I are still very confused and no matter how many videos I have watched I am still confused, maybe I am not wanting to accept it or think that because he has been so social for the last 3 years he doesn't fall in the spectrum but honestly I wish I had a real answer

My grandma recently told me I should take my son in because he could have autism due to the hand flapping she noticed. So I started googling symptoms and watching videos like this one on Autism and I’m just now realizing my 2 year old son has started showing all the symptoms. I’m feeling mixed emotions right now. I feel bad for not knowing nothing about autism or recognizing the signs. I feel heartbroken and stressed after watching this. 😓
Autism Family 16 days ago
Freedom Renee : we have been there and the first experience we had with autism is denial. It’s important not to sweep your concerns under the rug.they will not resolve themselves. At the very least I’d seek out a professional psychologist or speech therapist or other social worker just to rule out the possibility of autism. All the best 😉

I was also born with autism, but luckily I wasn't born with autism that was really bad like other kids have, and I always remember how aggressive I used to be, I also complained a lot about things, and people really need to understand what's going on with little children that always complain and being aggressive.
Anne Smith 16 days ago
Thanks so much - my son with autism is 23 and there wasn't this type of video around when he was younger - he met some/ not all of the video - it is so great that there are so many more resources now available for children. I do hope this continues for our adult children as there is so little to help at this point (the transition cliff is a CLIFF!). it is so very helpful to have your explanations accompanying the video with your child engaging in the specific behaviors. Many thanks!

This is not information at all. These signs are just guesses. It doesn't benefit any child to have these guesses alluded to for your amusement [i.e. talking over their head] while you keep them in the dark about your carelessly formed opinion of them.
ONE ILL 16 days ago
+Autism Family They are guesses, all right. Unless you have a surefire way to know what any one person is thinking as they do one of these actions, you, the expert are guessing as to what is going on in their head. I do know that this mind-reading produces undue anxiety in the reader. Such pressure you experience, being prompted to know what others are thinking without point-blank asking them. It must be hard.
Autism Family 16 days ago
Or your opinion of them. These are not guesses, please do research. All 3 of our children have been professionally diagnosed with second and third evaluations given by other professionals.

Mold exposure and ot Lyme disease can be confused for Autism. Don't listen to your Dr. for they aren't taught the truth in college. Traditional Western Blot Lyme tests are only 15% accurate for a reason. Genetic testing like IgeneX will give you answers. Don't be surprised your insurance won't cover it either.

Can I ask.I'm disabled and have a disability support dog I'm in the UK.lve at times seen little ones obviously having a hard time exhibiting some of the behaviours you highlight. I always go and ask mum if I can help ( a parent that's getting hard stares from other adults is appalling ).now I normally leave Paige my dog behind because I don't know if the little one is frightened of big dogs. Tell me could Paige distract a child or would it likely make things worse. The poor parent is usually so frazzled by the hard stares small talk can be difficult. Could a dog distract even from a distance ??? X

Up until my nephew was born- autism was a foreign concept. He was diagnosed at the age of 3. I witnessed him coming out of the womb and never did I ever imagine that he’d be “diagnosed with autism”. I use the quotations because I do not believe that autism, or any other condition should ever define an individual. The stigma surrounding autism has got to end. My nephew is just like any other kindergartener, only he is far more affectionate.

I have a medical record of Autism, but I'm good at Autism making, it's a way to force your self to be over mature than an average Typical it's not healthy though, it's better to be your self
Oren Franz 24 days ago
I might ask these questions once again because I hate when people keep asking questions that sounds foolish For example: Why do people a avoid eye contact? or people say Are you Autistic or something? You are to social to be Autistic Autism needs a cure Well, just because you are considered Typical and/ or Neurotypical doesn't mean that you don't have Autistic traits and health issues at all, the dictionary can say otherwise, but the facts are wrong, its impossible not to show Autistic traits at all, to be honest! Just because people avoid eye contact, don't just assume that they have Autism, its ironic, because Neurotypicals and or typicals can avoid eye contact and have poor social skills too, Autism Is not always one issue and just because you considered Typical does not mean that your social abilities are always right and justified, to be completely honest! And just because you are considered Normal doesn't mean that you are always mature than Autistic people and not everyone with Autism show signs of Autism that much, just to mask their Autistic traits, it's not healthy to do that, it is just easy to be yourself, but if people get discriminated against, they have no choice but do this and some of them might have better eye contact than you, who knows? To be honest! I am I right that not all people with Autism avoid eye contact? Am I right that not everyone with Autism has sensory issues and repetitive behavior? Am I right that some people with Autism can be mature than a typical child and very high intelligence? Good luck finding a cure for Autism, because Autism is part of a Neurotype and it is impossible to find a cure for it, you uneducated people who say this kinda stuff about Autism!

Heavy metals in vaccines (mercury, aluminum etc.) burn the nerves in the brains of our kids, hence autism. Make sure you study the ingredients before vaccination. WI38 are cells of female aborted fetuses, and MRC5 male aborted fetuses, both white Caucasian babies about three months old, dissected without anesthesia to preserve the purity of tissues, and tissues used to culture viruses. There are many more ingredients that are very dangerous and leave terrible consequences on health of our children. Here is the CDC list of ingredients.
